MC Senior Photo Senior Pictures That Feel Like You
That’s why we give you everything you need right from the moment you reach out, starting with easy booking — FAQs, pre-session prep, what not to forget for the shoot, and more!
Senior year goes fast.
One day you're picking out your first-day outfit, and before you know it, you're trying to figure out what comes next. Your senior pictures should actually capture who you are right now — not some stiff, posed version of you that you'll cringe at in five years.
At MC Senior Photo, I'm Michelle, and I've been photographing high school seniors in Sacramento and Northern California for over a decade. I specialize in creating senior portraits that feel real, personal, and completely you — whether you're bold and outgoing or someone who usually avoids the camera entirely.
Because here's the thing: most of my seniors tell me they hate being photographed. And by the end of their session? They're relaxed, laughing, and shocked at how much fun it actually was.
That's kind of my thing.
We are now booking Senior Portraits in Sacramento County and surrounding areas.
MC SENIOR PHOTO
Sacramento’s BEST Senior Portrait Experience
A Senior Portrait Experience That's Actually Stress-Free
This isn't just a photoshoot. It's a full experience — and it starts long before your session day.
We'll work together ahead of time to plan your outfits, choose your locations, and map out a session that reflects your personality. You'll know exactly what to expect, what to wear, and how to show up feeling prepared instead of panicked.
On session day, I guide every single pose. You will never stand there wondering what to do with your hands. Every movement, every expression — I've got you. The goal is for your photos to look natural and relaxed, because that's when they're actually good.
After your session, we'll meet for your image premiere where you'll see your portraits for the first time. That's where you'll choose your favorite images for albums, wall art, graduation displays, and more — because photos this good deserve to live somewhere other than your camera roll.

Senior Photo Locations in Sacramento, California
Sacramento is genuinely one of the best cities in California for senior photos. The variety here is unreal — from gritty downtown murals to open golden fields to the beautiful river parkway.
Some of my favorite Sacramento senior portrait locations:
Downtown Sacramento and Old Sacramento
Downtown gives us so much to work with — brick walls, iron lampposts, cobblestone streets, the infamous Tower Bridge, and colorful murals that make every shot feel intentional and editorial. If you want something with personality and an urban edge, this is the spot.
McKinley Park
McKinley is perfect if you want something soft and natural without leaving the city. The rose garden, open lawns, and mature trees create a relaxed, garden-like setting that works especially well for seniors who want something more timeless than trendy.
Urban Alleyways, Rooftops, and Murals
Sacramento's mural scene has exploded in recent years and it makes for incredible senior photo backdrops. Bold colors, graphic walls, and unexpected textures, add is the unique alley ways and rooftop views of the city skyline — these spots are great for seniors who want something that feels current and uniquely Sacramento.
The American River Parkway
The American river is one of my absolute favorites. Whether we're shooting along the banks or tucked into the trails surrounded by trees, the light here in the late afternoon is unmatched. It has that warm, Northern California feel that photographs beautifully.
Serving High School Seniors Throughout the Sacramento Area
I work with seniors in Sacramento and the surrounding communities, including Folsom, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, Granite Bay, and beyond.
I proudly photograph seniors from schools throughout the area, including:
St. Francis High School, Jesuit High School, Bella Vista High School, Christian Brothers High School, Capital Christian High School, Inderkum High School, Pleasant Grove High School, Elk Grove High School, Sheldon High School, Franklin High School — and many more across Northern California.
(Don't see your school? Reach out anyway. If you're in the Sacramento area, I'd love to work with you.)

Frequently asked questions about your Sacramento Senior Pictures
-
Earlier than you think. Summer sessions fill up fast. If you're shooting for yearbook deadlines or want peak summer light, booking in the late spring before your senior year gives you the best selection of dates and locations. Fall and Spring dates also fill up quickly so the earlier you book the better chance you have at the date you want.
-
After you book with me you'll receive a full style guide before your session. Most seniors bring 5–7 outfits — a mix of casual, dressy, and anything that reflects who you are. If you have a sport, hobby, or activity that's a big part of your life, we'll incorporate that too.
-
You're not alone — this is literally what almost every senior says before their session. You don't need modeling experience. I guide every pose and expression so your photos feel natural, not stiff. By the end, most seniors forget they were ever nervous.
-
Absolutely. Senior sessions aren't just for girls — and some of my favorite sessions have been with guys who showed up skeptical and left genuinely surprised by how good their senior photos turned out. If you go to Jesuit, Christian Brothers, Inderkum high or anywhere else in the Sacramento area, you're welcome here.
-
Most sessions run 2–3 hours, giving us enough time for multiple outfits, a couple of locations, and a wide range of senior pictures in your final gallery.
-
Yes, please. If your location allows pets, bring them. Some of the best senior photos I've ever taken have included a dog.
-
Yes. I offer custom-designed albums, framed wall art, storyboards, graduation displays, and digital collections. These photos deserve to actually live in your home — not just sit in a folder on your phone.
-
Yes. I regularly photograph seniors throughout Northern California, including Folsom, Elk Grove, Roseville, Granite Bay, and the surrounding areas. For locations further out, travel may apply — just ask when you reach out
-
Your image premiere is typically scheduled within two weeks of your session. That's when we will meet up and you'll see your senior portraits for the first time and choose your products and prints.
What my clients have to say about their Sacramento senior Portrait Experience
“Michelle is AMAZING! She did my daughter's senior pictures and was so incredible and fun to work with. From the initial chat on scheduling, organizing her outfits via zoom, the location choosing in Sacramento and day of process - all went perfect and smooth. My daughter was so excited the day of, and felt so comfortable she was smiling ear to ear the whole time! “
“I was incredibly excited, even more so than my son, to participate in a senior photo session with Michelle. Given my son’s apprehension about taking pictures and being the center of attention, I was concerned that the day might not be enjoyable for him. However, as the session began, my son’s nerves subsided, and Michelle had him laughing throughout. She truly possesses photo-superpowers! His favorite was bringing his truck to the rooftop in downtown Sacramento.“
