Senior Picture Locations in Elk Grove, California
One of the best parts about planning senior pictures in Elk Grove is the variety of locations we have nearby.
Want something urban? We can do that.
Want trees, water and greenery? We've got that too.
And if you want something completely different, Downtown Sacramento gives us even more options just a short drive away.
During your planning process, we'll talk about the overall look you want for your senior pictures and choose locations that fit your personality, outfits and style.
Old Town Elk Grove
If you want senior pictures with more of an urban feel, Old Town Elk Grove is a great option.
Historic buildings, brick, alleyways and textured backgrounds give us a completely different look from Elk Grove's natural locations.
It's a fun choice for seniors who want something a little more modern and casual, and it works especially well when we mix different outfits and looks throughout the session.
Camden Lake
If water and greenery are more your style, Camden Lake gives us a beautiful natural setting right in Elk Grove.
The lake, large willow trees, walking trails and bridge create plenty of variety and look especially beautiful around golden hour.
It's a great option for seniors who want their pictures to feel natural, relaxed and outdoorsy without having to travel far from Elk Grove.
Jack E. Hill Park
Jack E. Hill Park is another great option if you love a natural look.
Trees, walking trails, a small creek, bridges and seasonal greenery give us several different backgrounds to work with in one area.
The scenery changes throughout the year too, so the location can have a completely different feel depending on when you schedule your senior pictures.
Your Senior Picture Location Should Feel Like YOU
These are just a few of the possibilities.
Your senior session isn't about picking a location from a list because that's where everyone else goes. We'll talk about what you want your senior pictures to look like and find locations that work with your outfits, personality and vision.
Whether that's Old Town Elk Grove, Camden Lake, Jack E. Hill Park, Downtown Sacramento—or somewhere completely different—we'll create a senior portrait experience that feels like you.
Downtown Sacramento
Here's the thing—you don't have to take your senior pictures in Elk Grove just because you live there.
If you want something bolder and more urban, we can head into Downtown Sacramento for city streets, rooftops, brick, concrete, interesting architecture and completely different backgrounds.
Downtown Sacramento is especially fun if you want to incorporate your car or truck, want a more fashion-forward look, or simply want senior pictures that feel completely different from a traditional park setting.
Serving High School Seniors Throughout Elk Grove
I photograph high school seniors from Elk Grove and throughout the greater Sacramento area, including students from:
Pleasant Grove High School
Elk Grove High School
Franklin High School
Sheldon High School
Cosumnes Oaks High School
Laguna Creek High School
And your school doesn't determine where we take your senior pictures.
Some Elk Grove seniors want something close to home. Others want Downtown Sacramento, Folsom Lake, flower fields, fall color, the foothills, or somewhere completely unexpected.
That's part of the fun.
We'll find the locations that fit you.
Don't see your school listed? Reach out anyway. I photograph high school seniors throughout Sacramento County and Northern California.

Frequently asked questions about your Elk Grove Senior Photos
-
Earlier than you think!
I recommend booking at least 3–4 months before you'd like your senior session. If you're hoping for a popular summer or fall weekend, booking 6 months or more in advance gives you the best selection of dates.
Starting the process during junior year also means you can get senior pictures planned before senior year gets really busy.
Not sure when you should schedule yours? Check out my month-by-month guide to when you should book senior pictures.

Some great options include Old Town Elk Grove for a more urban look, Camden Lake for water and greenery, and Jack E. Hill Park for trees, trails and natural scenery.
And you aren't limited to Elk Grove. Downtown Sacramento, Folsom Lake, flower fields, the foothills, and other Northern California locations can also be options depending on the look you want.
-
Five outfits is the sweet spot.
That gives us enough variety to create completely different looks without spending your entire session changing clothes.
We can mix casual, dressier, school-related, activity-based, and personality-filled outfits to make your final gallery feel like YOU.
-
Every season gives us something different.
Summer is great for long evenings and golden light. Fall gives us warmer colors and cooler temperatures. Winter and early spring bring greener landscapes, while spring can give us flowers and fresh greenery.
We'll talk about the look you want and choose the season that fits it best.

I recommend bringing a mix of casual, dressy, and personality-filled looks.
Think favorite jeans, dresses, boots, sneakers, letterman jackets, sports uniforms, FFA jackets, or anything else that feels like you.
You'll also receive outfit guidance before your session, so you don't have to figure it all out yourself. Once you're booked, check out my guide to what to bring to your senior pictures so you're completely prepared for session day.
-
You don't have to know what you're doing—that's my job.
Most of my seniors aren't models and have never had a professional senior portrait session before.
I'll guide you through poses, movement and expressions throughout your session so you aren't left wondering where to stand, what to do with your hands, or how to look natural.
-
Absolutely.
Senior guy sessions can include trucks, cars, football, baseball, fishing, golf, letterman jackets, instruments, pets, or whatever he's into.
We can keep the session outdoors and casual, go completely urban, or combine several different looks.

YES, I encourage it!
Your senior pictures should capture more than what you look like. They should show some of the things that were important to you during your high school years.
Bring your uniform, football, baseball glove, golf clubs, musical instrument, FFA jacket, dance gear, or anything else that represents you.
-
Absolutely.
Cars and trucks can make senior pictures incredibly personal, especially for seniors who have spent years working on their vehicle or simply love their ride.
We'll choose a location and time of day that works with the vehicle and the overall look we're creating.
-
Yes! I photograph seniors throughout the greater Sacramento area and Northern California, and destination senior sessions are available too.
You don't have to choose a location in Elk Grove just because you live or attend school there. We'll choose locations based on the look and experience you want.
-
Your high school may have specific requirements for the portrait submitted to the yearbook, including a required photographer or deadline, so always check with your school.
Your MC Senior Photo session is different. This is your personalized senior portrait experience—the pictures that capture your personality, style, interests, and who you are during your senior year.
-
I sure do!
After your session, we'll meet for your Image Premiere where you'll see your senior pictures for the first time.
I'll help you choose your favorite images and decide how you'd like to enjoy them, including custom albums, framed wall art, storyboards, graduation displays, and digital image collections.
What my clients have to say about their Folsom Senior Portrait Experience
“My son was apprehensive about taking pictures and being the center of attention, so I was concerned the day might not be enjoyable for him. But as soon as the session began, his nerves subsided and Michelle had him laughing throughout. She truly possesses photo-superpowers!
By the time we got to the rooftop for pictures with his truck—his passion—he completely let loose. Music was playing, he was dancing, laughing, and simply being himself. Watching him genuinely enjoy his senior session was so special.
The entire experience was amazing and filled with fun. I can’t express my gratitude enough!”
~Noah’s Mom - Pleasant Grove High School
“I had such an amazing experience getting my senior pictures taken! Michelle made me feel super comfortable and confident the whole time. She has such a great eye for capturing the best moments, and every photo she showed me turned out better than I could imagine. The session was fun, relaxed, and she really listened to what I wanted. I’m so happy I chose her and I highly recommend for anyone looking for gorgeous senior photos!“
~Kaitlin - Pleasant Grove High School
