Remy’s Lodi Flower Farm Senior Session
There’s something about golden hour at a flower farm that just hits differently. Rows of colorful flowers glowing in the evening light, rustic barns in the background, and plenty of room to move, laugh, and twirl.
For Remy’s summer senior pictures, we photographed at Oak Grove Flower Farm, located at Jessie’s Grove Winery in Lodi, California. It was the perfect setting for a senior whose country roots and love of agriculture are such a big part of who she is.
Creating a Session That Felt Like Remy
Remy is a Linden High School senior with deep country roots and a heart planted firmly in agriculture. She’s an FFA girl through and through, so when we started planning her senior pictures, I knew her session needed to reflect that.
It needed to feel authentic, personal, and completely her—not like an idea borrowed from Pinterest that didn’t fit her personality.
During our planning Zooms, we talked through her outfits, meaningful items, and the types of locations she loved. That is how we landed on Oak Grove Flower Farm at Jessie’s Grove Winery in Lodi.
As a Lodi senior photographer, I’ve learned that the best senior picture location isn’t always the trendiest one. It’s the location that feels like the senior standing in it—and this flower farm felt exactly like Remy.
Four Outfits, Her FFA Jacket and One Very Special Blanket
Remy brought four outfits, her FFA jacket, and her baby blanket. I always encourage seniors to bring meaningful items because those little details help tell a much bigger story.
Her standout outfit was a long, flowy white skirt paired with a denim top. It fit her country style perfectly and photographed beautifully as she twirled between the flower rows during golden hour.
We also photographed Remy in her FFA jacket to represent the role agriculture has played in her high school years. Her baby blanket was included in a few sentimental portraits that brought happy tears to her mom’s eyes.
You can bring sports equipment, a letterman jacket, childhood photos, awards, your favorite boots, or anything else that helps tell your story. Why Oak Grove Flower Farm Was the Perfect Location
Oak Grove Flower Farm gave us so much variety without having to travel between several locations. We had colorful flower rows, rustic barns, open fields, and that gorgeous golden Lodi light.
It was feminine and dreamy without losing the country feel Remy wanted. Her denim, white skirt, boots, and FFA jacket all looked completely at home there.
